We have an important update for students and families of students in the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) remote learning programs. The Ministry of Education has provided updated direction to school boards for the 2022-23 school year which impacts:

  • Remote learning programs
  • E-Learning courses

What is Changing for Students Living Outside Ontario

As a result of this Ministry direction, as of September 1, 2022 students living outside of Ontario will no longer be able to enroll in remote learning programs or e-Learning courses.

All students enrolled in these programs for the 2022-23 school year will be required to complete an attestation. This will confirm their residency in the province of Ontario. They will need to provide proof of address, which can include:

  • Utility bill
  • Property tax bill
  • Rental or purchase agreement

Please note that we are not able to accept a driver’s license as proof of address.

We know that some families may be impacted by these requirements. To update or change your learning plans for the 2022-23 school year, or if you have questions, please follow these instructions:
