I trust the summer has been a good time to gather as a family for fun and adventure, free from the typical school-year routines!

Each year, there are always changes to the staff composition.  After a wonderfully rewarding career in education, we wish Mrs McPherson-Scheske well in her retirement.  Mrs. Scheske spent the majority of her career at Preston PS and enjoyed the community and parent commitment immensely.  Some of you as parents enjoyed having her as your teacher, and your child’s teacher!

Replacing Mrs Scheske is Ms Angela Smith.  Ms Smith was initially and Educational Assistant with the WRDSB, and then went to Teacher’s College to become an Ontario Certified Teacher.  She completed Long Term Occasional teaching positions teaching Grade 2-3 at Clemens Mill P.S., and as an Itinerant Occasional Teacher – teaching all grades and subject areas: French, Music, Grade 8 Phys Ed, and Special Education.  

We welcome Ms. Pranger to our Junior staff – teaching Grade 5-6 in place of Mrs. Joseph.  Ms. Pranger comes to us from King Edward P.S. – welcome Ms Pranger!

In our Kindergarten staff, we welcome Mrs. Rice, and Ms Dowsett as Dedicated Early Childhood Educators.  Together, they will be working in A3 with Mrs. Good, and will be working with our Extended Day AM/PM program (JK-2).

We continue to welcome new students to Preston PS, especially those from the new Speedsville Rd subdivision.  As we grow, we may have to look at re-organizing our classes in order to avoid having extremely large classes.  Stay tuned for more details once school starts!
