Dear parents & caregivers of Preston Public School students,

As a school staff, we are humbled and feel privileged to partner with you in the growth and development of your child(ren) in the upcoming academic year. Our team has worked tirelessly to prepare for the first day of school on Wednesday, September 6th and look forward to another year of learning. More information about the first day, teachers and classes will be available through School Day in the coming days. Kindergarten educators will be contacting families new to the school with all pertinent information. Others who do not yet have a School Day account can simply arrive on the school yard on Wednesday morning, find one of our staff wearing an orange vest and be directed to their teacher and classroom entrance. Over the course of the first weeks, you will also hear from your child’s teachers about specific procedures, expectations and routines. We want to extend a very special welcome to our students and families entering Year 1 Kindergarten and those new to the school. You will soon discover that you have arrived at a kind and caring school within an exceptional community. If you have any questions or concerns, you are always welcome to reach out to your child’s educators.

We are still looking for supervision monitors available to work during our two nutrition and activity breaks (11:15-11:55 and 1:55-2:35). Supervision monitors provide additional assistance indoors and outdoors during our recess periods.  Please contact the office at 519-653-0387 if you are interested or would like to get a little more information. Furthermore, there will be ongoing opportunities to volunteer at school events, class trips/events as well as involvement with our School Council.

Wishing you all a positive and memorable year,

Mr. Marc Lehmann, Interim Principal
