The following information is provided to assist you making advance preparations for the safety of your children, should it be necessary to close the school either for the whole day or during the school day. Severe weather conditions, power failure, breakdown of the heating system and flooding are a few of the events for which we must be prepared for and may may necessitate an emergency dismissal. If an emergency situation requires us to evacuate Preston Public School, our emergency alternate site is: The Royal Canadian Legion at 334 Westminster Drive, (519-653-6971). During emergency situations, students will be kept at school (or at our emergency alternate site) until they are picked up by a parent/guardian or until normal dismissal time.
If the Waterloo Region District School Board’s schools are closed due to weather conditions, this will posted on the Board’s website www.wrdsb.ca any time after 6:00am. The Board website is always the primary and most current source of closure or school bus cancellation updates.
